Who am I?

I’m a mineral used by every organ in your body, especially your heart, muscles and kidneys. I’m stored in the bones and organs, and used mostly for biological functions.

Sadly enough, a lot of you are probably deficient in me and don’t even know I exist, which is why I’m often called the “invisible deficiency”. This is a shame because I truly can help! I don’t mean to brag, but my role in the body is pretty powerful, see:

  • I help in the body’s detoxification process, preventing damage from chemicals, heavy metals and toxins in the body
  • I help digest proteins, carbohydrates and fats
  • I activate the muscles and the nerves
  • I also help relax the muscles in the body
  • It has also been said that I can help prevent chronic disease

You’ve probably seen me out and about, but just haven’t recognised me. I love hanging out in spinach leaves, pumpkin seeds, bananas, quinoa, almonds and avocados.

My hobbies include giving you energy and counteracting abnormal heart rhythms, muscle spasms, evening leg cramps and those sleepy, twitchy eyelids.
